Planning Guide

Is your space ready for a mobile cocktail class?

A mobile cocktail class means the bar comes to you: a professional mixologist plus premium spirits, mixers, glassware, tools and games, all set up in your chosen space and cleared away afterwards. The organiser needs to confirm that the space is suitable. This checklist walks through what we bring, what the host arranges, the approvals to secure before you book accommodation, and a six-item enquiry checklist you can copy and send.

What we bring, and what the host arranges

Every Blayss Mix class is fully hosted. We bring the mixologist, spirits, mixers and fresh ingredients, glassware, shakers, tools and garnish, a mobile bar setup with recipe cards, party games, and we handle the setup and the clean-up. Guests each make three cocktails, with mocktails available so non-drinkers take part fully.

The host arranges three things: a permitted, suitable space; guest access to it at the agreed time; and any separately hired venue or catering you choose alongside the class. If a venue, catering or accommodation company is involved, it is arranged independently of us and outside our booking.

Choosing the right space

  • Home or a house share — the simplest option: a kitchen or dining area with a workable table is usually all it takes.
  • Airbnb or hen house — works well when the property allows it; check the host's rules for gatherings and outside suppliers before you book.
  • Hotel private room or function space — comfortable and social; ask the venue to confirm permission in writing for an outside supplier and for alcohol to be served in the room.
  • Office or workplace — popular for corporate classes; an internal approval and the office alcohol policy come first (see the organiser checklist on our corporate team building guide).

Get approval before you book accommodation

If you are hiring an Airbnb, hen house or hotel room, get the host or venue's approval before the booking is confirmed — in writing where possible — for four things:

  • An outside supplier (our team) running the activity on site.
  • Alcohol being prepared and served in the space.
  • Your final guest count, including anyone joining late.
  • Your finish time, so the venue's own rules on noise and check-out are respected.

Confirm permission before committing to accommodation or suppliers.

Room and access

Our published guidance of roughly a 2m x 1m table for the setup is a starting point, not a guarantee that a particular room suits every group. Around the table you need room for your group to gather comfortably and watch the demo, with clear walkways so people move safely between stations. Nearby water access helps with prep and rinsing.

Practical access matters more than people expect: stairs or a lift, and the loading distance from parking to the room, affect how smoothly the setup goes. If you are unsure whether your space works, send room details and photos privately to hello@blayssmix.co.uk and we will give you a straight answer before you commit.

Considering an outdoor event? Keep an indoor backup in the plan. We do not promise weatherproof kit, so a covered or indoor option is the safe way to build the day.

Pricing, inclusions and travel

  • Classes run from £35 per person with a minimum of 10 guests; see packages and prices.
  • We do not hire rooms: a suitable space must already be available. Independent accommodation or room hire is not included in our price.
  • Exceptional travel distances or an overnight stay are confirmed and quoted before your booking is finalised — no surprise additions.

Your copyable six-item enquiry checklist

Copy these six items into your enquiry (email hello@blayssmix.co.uk or the quote builder) and the planning is mostly done:

  1. Date and postcode
  2. Guest count
  3. Occasion
  4. Space and access details (type of space, table size, stairs/lift, parking)
  5. Drink requirements (cocktails, mocktails, dietary notes)
  6. Timing (start time and finish time)

Your quote is an estimate and availability is confirmed by the team; a deposit is a step in the booking process, not a guarantee of a slot until availability has been confirmed. Check coverage for your area, browse the full service, and if you are planning a hen weekend around the class, our hen party activities at home guide pairs naturally with this one.
